There are a lot of words to describe this wristwatch, but the best one to sum it all up would be “WOW.” This is an exceptionally rare, very limited-run Navitimer with the Big Cursive “B” — in outstanding condition for its age. If you are a Breitling collector, you don’t want to miss this one.
The Navitimer — conceived by Breitling with AOPA in the early 1950s — became the definitive pilot’s chronograph. Designed as a wrist-worn navigation computer with a slide-rule bezel, the Navitimer enabled pilots to compute airspeed, fuel consumption, and distance long before electronic devices existed.
Our example dates to ≈1966 and features all-original dial printing with the rare Big Cursive “B.” It appears to belong to the second 806 series (early 1964–late 1966), making it one of the last Navitimers produced with this dial variant — an important detail for collectors.
