Servinced Vintage Wakmann Breitlilng Chronograph Lemania 1280 321 big eye Watch

WakMann history is an interesting one. Since at the time, the US had increased duties on imported Swiss watches, which opened the door for Wakmann to partner up with Breitling. Wakmann would receive a batch of nearly complete watches from Switzerland, which would then undergo final assembly before being sold under the Wakmann name. Beyond “re-branded” watches, Wakmann also supplied timekeeping devices for the Armed Forces, U.S. Government, commercial airlines, and radio/television studios as part of their Breitling relationship. Later the company would be purchased by Breitling and absorbed into the larger and more successful umbrella. Most watch are Breitling re-branded by Wakmann to avoid import taxes.

The movement along has a long history of excellence. Lemania is a name that should be familiar to vintage watch collectors, if not for watches released under its own signature, but for its contributions to other brands. Like the Caliber CH27 & CH27 C12 (which came in many versions), better-known as the Omega Caliber 320 for two register chronograph & famous Caliber 321 kwon for being on the moon for the three-register chronograph. Which would go on to be used in the Omega Speedmaster—the first watch worn on the Moon. But Lemania’s history goes back farther than that, extending all the way to the mid-19th century, when two brothers—Alfred and Henry Alfred Lugrin—were born in the Vallée de Joux. We mean, of course, the creation of the CH27 (321), which Buzz Aldrin would bear all the way to the Moon, a half-century after Alfred Lugrin formed Lemania.

This is great time keeping for a watch in this age!  This is a beautiful pre-speedmaster moon watch and very rare with this movement. It is very rare to find a watch this old keeping great time. Defiantly a collector watch. Please look at all the pictures, as they are part of the description. The watch is working and Serviced by last owner and very clean movement. This is a highly collectible watch. Very few left with this rare movement. Sure, to increase in value overtime, and a great addition to your collection. It is very rare to find a Wakmann watch made by Breitling Chronograph Lemania 1280 Pre 321 Triple Register Watch. Aka Wakmann "Big Eyes" Chronograph, circa 1960s, this watch has some similarity to similar color Breilting 765 and Breilting Top Time but different movement. The condition of the watch is the same as it appears in the photos.  The watch is working and is part of our new Certified Pre-Owned CPO Program.  Contact me if you have any questions first.
