The Swiss company Marvin enjoys an excellent reputation as a designer of stylish and reliable watches, rich in history and style. Infallibly measuring the course of time, the Marvin Generations excite the senses and exceed the expectations of their owners.

It was initiated by the brothers Mark and Emanuel Didisheim in Bern, Switzerland in 1850 with a small workshop for making watches. In 1891 it grew into a factory called "Albert Didisheim et Freres", taking into account the sons of Mark Didisheim, who took over the family business. Marvin makes its debut at the 1893 New York World's Fair, for which the Didisheim brothers register their new name. The Marvin watches enjoy immense popularity in the New World, allowing the company factory to be moved from Bern to the clocks of the Swiss watchmaker - La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1905.

In the first half of the 20th century, Marvin established itself as a brand with excellent design and quality at reasonable prices. The company acquires modern production technologies and a reputation for excellent treatment of its employees. The company continues to gain fans by sponsoring teams in motor sports, entering new markets and producing high-quality mechanisms for other brands of watches. Particularly successful for the Didisheim brothers were the 50s and 60s, during which watches produced and sold reached 7 million.

The situation changed dramatically in the 1970s, becoming the fate of many Swiss watchmakers. With the invention of the quartz clock mechanism, the end of Swiss hegemony in time measurement comes to an end. Until the Quartz Revolution, Swiss companies own 50% of the global watch market. Companies like Marvin thrive in the absence of real competition. While the first quartz mechanisms are extremely expensive and occupy high market niches, the second generation made in Asia is cheap and relatively accurate. Under the influx of cheap Asian quartz watches, centuries-old traditions of watchmaking, deep-rooted manufacturing, marketing and sales methods have been shaken.

In the turmoil that has remained in history, such as the "Quartz Crisis", many well-known and until recently profitable Swiss companies go bankrupt or become part of large corporations, thus disappearing. Of the 1,600 Swiss watchmaking companies in the early 1970s, only 600 remained in 1983. These are also difficult times for Marvin - the company was absorbed by the Manufactures d'Horlogerie Suisses Reunies conglomerate in 1970. However, economic difficulties have failed to make a point in Marvin's history. The main reason for this is a characteristic feature of the company that sets it apart from all others - Marvin watches are not just an instrument, they are the embodiment of an idea.

The philosophy behind every Marvin watch is to provide quality mechanisms and delicate processing at a reasonable price. An idea that finds fans in every generation. In 2002. Marvin was purchased by Jean and Cecil Maye after lengthy discussions with the heirs of the Didisheim brothers. As Jean and Cecil Maye themselves state, "the democratization of the possession of sophisticated Swiss watches has been a true value of Marvin since 1850". As a phoenix of ashes, after a two-decade hiatus, Marvin is once again intent on reinventing the luxury watch.

Unique aesthetics and bold design. Uncompromising attention to detail and workmanship. Selected and unique ideas. All this with technical excellence and affordable prices. This is the quintessence of watches "
